Copyright Policy

All articles published in the International Journal of Food Technology and Management are open-access articles published and distributed under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License. This license permits reproduction, distribution, derivative works, and commercial use, provided the original work is properly cited and the authors and publisher are appropriately credited. Authors need to obtain permission from the publisher to do so.

Withdrawal policy

The International Journal of Food Technology and Management (IJFTM) is committed to maintaining the integrity and completeness of the scholarly record. Articles that have been published should remain extant, exact, and unaltered as far as possible. However, under exceptional circumstances, articles may be withdrawn from publication.

Conditions for Withdrawal:

Errors or Inadvertent Posting: If an article contains significant errors or has been inadvertently posted twice, it may be withdrawn before official publication.

Ethical Violations: Articles that violate journal publishing ethics guidelines, such as multiple submissions, false claims about authorship, plagiarism, or improper use of data, may be withdrawn.

Legal/Ethical Concerns: In cases where legal or ethical violations pose a risk of harm if the article is used, it may be withdrawn.

Procedure for Withdrawal:

Notification: The corresponding author must notify the journal as soon as possible using the contact details listed on the journal’s home page.

Review: The journal Editor or a designated representative will review the request and consult with the journal’s editorial team and Elsevier’s Research Integrity & Publishing Ethics Center of Expertise if necessary.

Decision: The Editor will determine whether the article should be withdrawn and will notify the authors of the decision.

Notification of Withdrawal: If the article is withdrawn, a notice will be published and linked to the original article, clearly marked as withdrawn, including the reasons for withdrawal.

Retained Versions: The journal will retain all versions of articles, including those that have been withdrawn, to maintain a complete scholarly record.

Publishing Ethics

The International Journal of Food Technology and Management (IJFTM) is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and ensuring the integrity of the academic record. We adhere to the principles and guidelines set forth by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and expect our authors, reviewers, and editors to comply with these ethical standards.

Authorship and Contributorship:

Authorship Criteria: Only individuals who have made significant contributions to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the reported study should be listed as authors. All authors must approve the final version of the manuscript and agree to its submission.

Contributorship: Individuals who have contributed to the work but do not meet the criteria for authorship should be acknowledged in the contributorship statement.

Originality and Plagiarism:

Original Work: Authors must ensure that their work is original and has not been published elsewhere. Any form of plagiarism, including self-plagiarism, is strictly prohibited.

Citations and References: Proper citation and acknowledgment of sources are required. Authors must provide accurate and complete references for all data and concepts drawn from other works.

Data Integrity and Fabrication:

Data Accuracy: Authors are responsible for ensuring the accuracy of their data. Fabrication, falsification, or selective reporting of data is unethical and unacceptable.

Data Sharing: Authors should be prepared to provide access to their raw data for verification purposes upon request.

Conflict of Interest:

Disclosure: Authors, reviewers, and editors must disclose any financial or non-financial conflicts of interest that could influence the research, manuscript evaluation, or publication process.

Transparency: Conflict of interest statements must be included in the manuscript.

Ethical Approval:

Human and Animal Subjects: Research involving human participants or animals must have been conducted in accordance with ethical standards and approved by relevant ethics committees. Authors must provide evidence of such approval.

Peer Review Process:

Fair and Objective Review: The peer review process must be fair, unbiased, and confidential. Reviewers must disclose any conflicts of interest and recuse themselves if they cannot provide an objective review.

Timeliness: Reviewers should provide their evaluations in a timely manner and constructive feedback to improve the quality of the manuscript.

Post-Publication Discussions and Corrections:

Corrections: Authors must promptly notify the journal if they discover significant errors or inaccuracies in their published work. The journal will issue corrections or retractions as needed.

Discussions: IJFTM encourages post-publication discussions and welcomes constructive criticism of published works.

Compliance with Ethical Standards:

Adherence to Guidelines: All parties involved in the publication process must adhere to the ethical guidelines established by IJFTM and COPE.

Ethical Concerns: Any ethical concerns or misconduct allegations will be thoroughly investigated, and appropriate actions will be taken to address and resolve such issues.

 Retraction Policy

The International Journal of Food Technology and Management (IJFTM) is dedicated to maintaining the integrity of the scholarly record. Articles may be retracted to correct the literature and ensure the accuracy and reliability of published information. This policy outlines the procedures for retraction of articles.

Grounds for Retraction:

Significant Errors: Articles containing major errors or inaccuracies that invalidate the findings or conclusions.

Ethical Violations: Instances of misconduct such as plagiarism, fraudulent data, or unethical research practices.

Duplicate Publication: Cases where the article has been published elsewhere without proper cross-referencing, permission, or justification.

Legal/Ethical Concerns: Articles posing a potential legal risk or containing breaches of ethical standards.

Retraction Process:

Initial Review: The editorial team will review the concerns raised about the article. If the concerns are valid, an investigation will be initiated.

Consultation: The authors will be contacted and given an opportunity to respond to the concerns. The editorial team may also consult with experts in the field or the journal's ethics committee.

Decision: Based on the investigation and consultations, the editorial team will make a decision regarding the retraction. The authors will be informed of the decision.

Retraction Notice:

Transparency: A retraction notice will be published in the journal and linked to the original article. The notice will clearly state the reasons for the retraction and who initiated the retraction.

Permanent Retraction: The original article will remain on the journal's website with a clear watermark indicating it has been retracted but will not be removed, ensuring a complete record of publication.

Authors' Responsibilities:

Cooperation: Authors are expected to cooperate fully with the retraction process and provide any necessary information to support the investigation.

Corrections and Apologies: Where appropriate, authors may be asked to issue a formal correction or apology.

Journal's Commitment:
